Use Telegram as your AI terminal. Supports DM/Group chat, multimodal input, and real-time typing status.

Setup & Installation

Get Token from @BotFather via /newbot

Option 1: Set env var `TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN=YourToken`

Option 2: Edit `~/.openclaw/openclaw.json` adding telegram config

Start Gateway: `openclaw gateway`

Pairing: Send msg to Bot -> Run `openclaw pairing list telegram` -> `openclaw pairing approve`

Command Examples

DM: Write a Python crawler script for me

Group: @botname /status

Settings: /activation always (respond without mention in groups)

Important Notes

  • Default is DM pairing mode, requires approval for unknown users
  • Groups need BotFather Privacy Mode disabled or Bot as Admin
  • Ensure network access to api.telegram.org
